Thesis writing service in Bangalore
Help for VTU, Bangalore University, IISc, CHRIST and RGUHS scholars, worked remotely.
Thesis Writing Service gives thesis writing support to PhD and Master’s scholars in Bangalore, and we do all the work remotely from Nagercoil.
Mostly scholars come to us for planning the chapters or for drafting help. Some need only editing, or data analysis, or the format fixed. We have no office in Bengaluru, and none of us visits your campus also. Everything happens over phone, WhatsApp and video calls.
One thing in Bengaluru confuses many scholars. Your college and the university giving your degree are many times two different names. Suppose your research centre is inside an engineering college. Then mostly you are a VTU scholar, and the thesis goes to VTU at Belagavi. If your department is in the Jnana Bharathi campus, Bangalore University awards the degree. Medical, dental, nursing and pharmacy colleges come under RGUHS. IISc and CHRIST have their own rules separately.
Margins, similarity limits and the papers they accept are different for each of them. So we first ask every Bangalore scholar which university is awarding the degree. We read all these rules in the official documents in October 2026.

Universities in Bangalore and what they ask for
Bangalore University (BU), Jnana Bharathi
Bangalore University departments and its recognised centres follow the Ph.D. Regulations 2024. A full-time scholar can submit once three years are over, and has to submit within five years from provisional registration. For part-time scholars it is four years minimum and six years maximum. The requisition goes to the Registrar (Evaluation) with five copies of the final synopsis. After the Registrar gives permission, you get six months’ time to give four copies of the thesis.
Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU)
Many engineering PhDs here are VTU PhDs done at a research centre in a Bengaluru college. As per the 2023 regulations, you write the synopsis in English and present it in a pre-submission colloquium. The colloquium comes minimum three months ahead of the thesis, and only three attempts are allowed. If you fail the third time also, the registration gets cancelled. Once your synopsis gets approval, the thesis should reach VTU inside three months. Every extension after that carries a penal fee of ₹2,000.
Indian Institute of Science (IISc)
IISc runs the whole process on the ScholarOne portal, as per the Student Information Handbook (August 2026 version). First you give the colloquium, and within six weeks of that the PhD thesis has to come in, with a ₹5,000 fee. Note one point in the handbook carefully. If some text in your thesis is produced by an AI tool, IISc treats it as plagiarism, even if you wrote everything else yourself. You can use AI for grammar and for clarity. For any other use you need approval from your supervisor, and you have to disclose that use.
CHRIST (Deemed to be University)
Under the 2022 regulations, CHRIST wants two papers and two conference presentations. The papers can be in Scopus, Web of Science or refereed journals that its Centre for Research has approved. A patent, if it is published or granted, can be used in place of one paper. The format guidelines (version 1.3, July 2025) give IEEE style for science and engineering theses. All the other subjects use APA, from humanities and law to commerce and management. Your abstract has to come between 350 and 500 words.
Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS)
Health-science scholars carry the heaviest paper load in Bengaluru. The RGUHS Revised Ordinance 2021 wants minimum four papers in indexed journals, with you as the first author or the corresponding author. One of the four must be in an RGUHS journal. The RGUHS Library checks every paper. For similarity they allow up to 15% of total contents. We could not see any exclusion mentioned for this limit in the ordinance.
Two different thesis layouts in the same city
Take two scholars from one college, one at its VTU research centre and the other a part-time Bangalore University scholar. Their theses will look quite different.
For Bangalore University the format is in Appendix 7 of the 2024 regulations. Print on both sides of A4 paper. Use Times New Roman 12 point for the body, and line spacing is 1.5. Keep a margin of 1.5 inches on the left side and one inch on the top, bottom and right. Any quotation running more than two sentences goes single-spaced, with an indent on the left side. Chapter 1 must carry the title INTRODUCTION and the last chapter must be titled CONCLUSION. Synopsis length they suggest is 12 to 14 pages, and the bibliography pages are not counted in that.
VTU scholars use the VTU template. On VTU’s PhD formats page there is a link to a thesis format circular of July 2025. Download the current one. Many scholars take an old 2019 file from some senior and start typing in that, which we don’t advise. The 2026 checklist gives two practical rules for VTU theses. First one is about the PDF. Make it with Microsoft’s “Print to PDF” option only, because VTU does not allow online converters. Check your USN, name and title before uploading, because the submission cannot be reopened.
If you are moving a chapter between the two formats, keep separate files for each template from the beginning itself. The office returns a thesis with mixed headings and margins very quickly.
VTU similarity limit (10% or 25%) and the paper rule by USN
Ask three VTU scholars about the similarity limit and you may hear two answers. Both come from VTU only.
The PhD Manual 2024 wants similarity at 10% or less. The first resubmission costs ₹5,000 and the second costs ₹10,000. VTU’s formats page still gives the limit as 25%. There the fees are ₹5,000 and then ₹7,500, and the third submission is final. The regulations (8.3.2) allow maximum three submissions, and each one has a fee. Our advice to VTU scholars is to bring it down to 10% or below. Then whichever version the office follows, you are safe. Expect some waiting time also because of the 2026 checklist. VTU starts the check only after the full thesis is uploaded online and the printed copy has also reached VTU.
Papers are the next place scholars get stuck. Item 13 of the 2026 checklist goes by your USN. When the year code in your USN is 20 or later, you need one paper in a Q1–Q3 Scopus journal. Older batches have options. One Q1–Q3 Scopus paper is still accepted from them. Otherwise they can give two papers from UGC-CARE journals, or else two papers that are indexed in Scopus, SCI or WoS. You and your guide both have to be authors on the paper. The Doctoral Committee signs it, and you submit it in the Genuineness Certificate format.
The UGC-CARE site itself has a notice on CARE. Its list got no update after October 2024, and no more updates are coming. Are you in an older batch and planning on two CARE papers? Then check the journal against VTU’s current rules before you pay any fee.
One more mismatch is there. As per the regulations, the first open seminar comes three months after the viva that closes coursework, and the second one three months after the first. The 2026 checklist gives four months and two months. Ask your research centre which one they follow, in writing.
Doing a part-time PhD with a full-time job
A lot of Bengaluru scholars are doing their researches in the evening after office hours. Many are in IT or manufacturing, and some teach in private colleges. For them, finding the required days of presence is mostly the biggest trouble, more than the writing.
| Degree awarded by | Presence needed from a part-time scholar | Rule source |
|---|---|---|
| Bangalore University | Minimum 120 working days in total, not counting coursework days, at the supervisor’s department, a constituent college or a recognised centre | PhD Regulations 2024, clause 4.5 |
| VTU | Two stays of at least 15 days every year at the centre, each one before an RAC review, till the final synopsis stage | VTU PhD Regulations 2023, clause 2.3(5) |
| CHRIST | Meeting the supervisor at the university at least two times every month | CU PhD Regulations 2022, clause 2.c |
| RGUHS | Four years in part-time mode, when the candidate, the guide and the department belong to the same institution | Revised Ordinance 2021, clause 4.2 |
Industry people should read the VTU clause slowly. It is for in-service candidates with at least one year of experience after their PG degree. The employer has to be an engineering college, a polytechnic or a university. Otherwise the candidate should be research staff in a public, private or corporate organisation. A non-research software job may not fit this wording. Ask your research centre first and keep the answer on paper. The 2026 checklist also ask part-time scholars for a residence certificate signed by the head of the institute.
Bangalore University does not allow a full-time scholar to hold a permanent job. Some scholars find this rule only after getting a job midway. If you take the job, you have to convert to part-time, with a fee. For changing the mode, the Doctoral Committee has to approve it first. Under UGC’s 2022 rules, your employer gives an NOC, and in that they must write that part-time study is permitted. The same letter should mention your job leaves you enough time for research. Your employer also has to agree to relieve you for coursework whenever needed.
Bangalore University rules on first-author papers and the stamped affidavit
Clause 17.10 is a short clause, but it is strict. At submission you show two articles where you are the first author. These must be in reputed, refereed or peer-reviewed journals, or in journals on UGC CARE. The other option is two papers you presented at conferences or seminars, again as first author. Reprints of the papers or the conference certificates are the proof they ask for. A paper where your guide’s name is printed first will not be counted for this clause. Fix the author order with your guide before sending manuscript to the journal, and don’t leave it till the paper is accepted.
Next comes the library work. As per Bangalore University’s plagiarism policy, you give an affidavit on ₹100 non-judicial stamp paper, and it has to be notarised (Annexure II). Your supervisor signs Annexure III, which is the Self Plagiarism Exclusion Certificate. Only the papers listed in that certificate can be left out of the count. Forget to list one paper there and its match stays in the report. The thesis then carries your undertaking, the similarity report with the University Library’s certification, and the originality certificate from your supervisor.
Keep your half-yearly progress reports updated also. The office will not process your final synopsis under clause 17.2 until every earlier report is on file with them. Even one report missing from your second year can hold up a synopsis which is ready in every other way.
Working with us from Bangalore
Mostly the first contact is on WhatsApp. Tell us which university you are registered in and in which year. Mention whether it is full-time or part-time also. VTU scholars should also send the year in their USN, since the paper rule changes with that year. We ask it in the first message itself. With Bangalore University scholars we ask about their first-author papers and which progress reports are already on file.
We take calls Monday to Saturday, 9:30 am to 6:30 pm. Working people mostly find Saturday easier for a video call. If you message us at night, we read it on the next working morning.
First we look at your chapter, your data or your similarity report. Then a written scope comes to you with the work, the finish date and the fee. All edits come back in your own Word file as tracked changes and comments. For VTU scholars we put the chapters in the VTU template from the start. For Bangalore University scholars we keep the margins and chapter titles as per Appendix 7. When we do analysis, we go through each table with you on a call, till you are able to defend it yourself.
The thesis stays your work and you remain the author. You print, sign and submit it, and you face the colloquium. We help make the thesis you take in correct, clearly written and in your university’s format.

Questions from Bangalore scholars
Do you meet scholars in Bengaluru?
No. We don’t have any office in Bengaluru, and we don’t travel to meet scholars. All the work is done from Nagercoil through phone, WhatsApp, email and video calls.
My college is autonomous. Does it set my PhD thesis format?
Mostly no. The format depends on who awards the degree. If you are at a VTU research centre, VTU gives the degree and so the VTU template applies. Autonomous status is only for the college’s own UG and PG courses. If you are not sure, look at VTU’s list of research centres or ask the head of your research centre.
I work in an IT company. Will VTU accept me as a part-time scholar?
It may be possible. VTU’s part-time clause mentions teachers and also research staff of public, private or corporate organisations. If your job is not a research role, write to the research centre and ask if you are eligible. You also have to spend two spells of 15 days every year at the centre. With IT project deadlines that is hard to manage.
Which similarity limit should I aim for at VTU?
Keep it at 10% or lower. The PhD Manual gives 10% while the formats page still shows 25%, so 10% works for both. Only three paid checks are allowed. So before you send the thesis for checking, sort out every reference and quotation properly.
Does a co-authored paper count for Bangalore University?
It counts only when you are the first author. Clause 17.10 needs two articles or two conference papers where you are first author. If your guide is the first author, that paper will not satisfy the rule, even if the journal is a very good one.
Can you help an RGUHS scholar?
Yes, we can. We help with writing, statistics and format, and we also help prepare the four papers for journals. We could not find any exclusion in the RGUHS rules for its 15% similarity limit. That is why before the check we go through the full thesis with you, references included.
Is Bengaluru City University the same as Bangalore University?
No, Bengaluru City University is a different university, at the Central College campus. Some of its rules may follow Bangalore University’s. Please confirm with BCU’s Registrar (Evaluation) which regulations, thesis format and plagiarism process are applicable to your batch.
