Dissertation help in Trivandrum

Master’s dissertation help for Trivandrum students.

For scholars in Trivandrum, worked remotely from Nagercoil. Checked .

Yes, we help Master’s students in Trivandrum with planning, drafting and formatting their dissertation or project report, by phone and WhatsApp from Nagercoil.

Master’s students from the city mostly fall in two groups. One group is M.Tech students at CET, GEC Barton Hill, SCT or some other KTU college. For them Phase II of the dissertation comes in Semester IV. The other group is MBA, M.Com, MSW or M.Sc students in colleges under the University of Kerala, and their project report has to be in before the semester exams. Their calendars are different, and the people who mark the work are also different.

We don’t meet students in Thiruvananthapuram or any other city. For what we do on a dissertation in general, see our dissertation help page. Here we have only collected the rules that decide how a Master’s report is written and marked in this city.

KTU M.Tech: where the 100 marks of Phase II sit

In the KTU M.Tech 2022 scheme the dissertation is spread over two semesters. Phase I is in Semester III and Phase II is in Semester IV (Track I). How Phase II is marked is given in a KTU circular of 20 June 2024. First there are 100 marks of internal assessment, given by the project coordinator, a senior faculty member and your supervisor. Then 100 marks come at the end-semester evaluation, where an external expert from industry, or from a research or academic institute, sits with the coordinator and your supervisor.

Please look carefully at how the end-semester 100 marks are divided.

  • 10 marks for innovation and originality
  • Implementation and execution carry 20 marks
  • 25 marks go to the project documentation
  • Presentation and defence, 45 marks

That means the written report gets only a quarter of the end-semester Phase II marks, and the presentation and defence get almost half. So a lot depends on whether you can explain your own work. We work on the report along with you, and after that we practise the defence on a call, one slide at a time.

The publication rule KTU dropped

Some seniors still say a published paper is needed before the Phase II evaluation. Earlier it was like that. For the dissertation track the University took that rule away by U.O. No. 1362/2024/KTU, which is dated 8 May 2024. The 5 marks that were kept for the paper have been moved to the viva component.

Students are asking us whether to write paper anyway. If your guide wants one, or you are planning a PhD later, a paper from the project can help. It is no longer a condition for Phase II. And please don’t pay some doubtful journal just to get a paper out. Those weeks are better used on the implementation and the defence, because the marks are there.

Similarity checks for Kerala University students

A Master’s student cannot get a personal DrillBit account under the ShodhShuddhi scheme of INFLIBNET. In the FAQ of that scheme they have written clearly that UG and PG students are not eligible for it. So the check has to be run by your college or by the university library.

Here in Thiruvananthapuram, the Kerala University Library says its plagiarism tools cover dissertations and project reports along with theses. On its application form there is a box you can tick for a dissertation. But the library’s procedure note says DrillBit is kept for theses and for articles taken from theses. Because of this, a dissertation may be checked on iThenticate instead. As per the same note, the fee is ₹105 for students and ₹420 for teachers and others. A further check of the same document costs ₹50. Ask your department whether they book the library check or you have to apply on your own.

The next question is the similarity limit. The UGC’s 2018 plagiarism regulations cover dissertations as well as theses, and under them similarity up to 10% has no penalty. But a college is free to keep its own figure. Ask your guide what number your college is following, and only after that start rewriting.

MBA, M.Com and MSW reports in University of Kerala colleges

We could not find a single published format for Master’s project reports that applies to all University of Kerala colleges. What many departments do is give a sample project report, mostly a bound copy from a senior. The sample report show you the chapter order, the certificate pages and how to bind it. It cannot tell you if the senior did the analysis correctly.

For that reason we use the sample only for layout. Most reports have an introduction, then a short review, the method, the analysis, and lastly the findings and suggestions. MSW reports mostly add a chapter on the agency where you did fieldwork. In commerce and management, the report is usually built on a questionnaire, with percentage tables and one or two chi-square tests. If your guide wants a specific test, we run it with you and go through each table, so you can answer the external examiner yourself.

Also keep one point in mind about the UGC 2018 regulations. They ask universities to put Master’s dissertations on Shodhganga within one month of the degree being awarded. Some of the college don’t do this in practice. Even then, assume your report can come in front of anyone some day and write it like that.

How it works from Trivandrum

Send us a WhatsApp message with your course, college and university, and the date of your next review. If you already have the topic approval or the Phase I report, attach that also.

After that we send you a plan, week by week, and we keep the last few days before the review date free as buffer. If you want help with the writing, first we fix the scope and the fee in writing. You write every chapter, and we edit and comment inside your Word file. For KTU students we keep the final week for the defence. There is a mock presentation on a video call, with the type of questions an external from industry usually asks.

With Kerala University students we check every citation and every quotation before the report is sent for library check. Each extra check of the same file means another fee.

Questions from Trivandrum scholars

Do I need a published paper for my KTU M.Tech Phase II evaluation?

Not if you are on the dissertation track of the 2022 scheme. U.O. No. 1362/2024/KTU, dated 8 May 2024, took away that requirement, and the marks were shifted to the viva. If your track or scheme is different, confirm with your PG coordinator once.

Can I check my MBA project report on DrillBit through ShodhShuddhi myself?

No, you can’t. PG students are not given ShodhShuddhi accounts. You can ask your college to do it. Or go to the Kerala University Library, which says its service is open for dissertations and project reports.

My guide gave me a senior’s report as a model. Can I follow it?

Follow its layout, meaning the chapter order, certificates, margins and binding. Do not take its wording or its analysis. Your data is not the same as the senior’s data. And if you copy lines, the similarity software is having the older reports also, so it will catch them.

Can you just give me a finished report?

That is not something we do. You will be writing the report, and we help you on the side with edits and comments. In KTU, 45 out of the 100 end-semester marks are for the presentation and defence before an external expert. A report you did not write yourself will not hold up in those questions.

I’m in Kazhakoottam. Can you come to the college for my guide meeting?

Sorry, coming to the college is not possible for us, in Kazhakoottam or any other place. We can help you prepare what to show your guide, on a video call before the meeting.

In Trivandrum and short of time?
